Our Pharmacy The Pharmacy Department at OnCare Cancer Centers plays a critical role in the treatment and successful management of cancer and related diseases. The availability of a specialty-trained pharmacy team allows for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and is an invaluable educational resource for clinical staff and patients, alike. Their services include mixing of chemotherapy products for both clinics, providing take home prescriptions to patients, and filling for new drug prescriptions.The pharmacy staff also oversees the safety of the drugs used at OnCare – from dosage calculations and handling procedures to innumerable safety checks. They provide support to both physicians and nurses allowing them to perform more complicated therapies in the outpatient setting rather than in the hospital. This results in reduced health care costs as well as improved patient satisfaction through convenience. |
